CRUSADER ARMOR FOR SISTERS

I was reading (and re-reading) some of the original fluff for the Sisters,
when I came across this idea. To paraphrase the fluff, the Sisters get the
latest and best armor and arms that the Tech Priests have to offer. Now,
while the technology to make suits of Terminator armor may be lost (praise
the Emperor!), the ability to research and make better suits of the Power
Armor they already wear is possible. These developments would show
themselves specifically during one of the many Crusades the Sisters embark
upon. I have already added this to my "homegrown" SoB codex.

Sisters of Battle Crusader Armor (represented by the models that have the
"masks" or helmets on)
Very similar to a suit of power armor, but including experimental fiber
bundles which become rigid on impact. This suit of armor was developed for
Canoness Xavier, for the Order of the Velvet Hammer. Cut off from
traditional Imperial machine shops, and forced to employ Squat forgemasters
for repair, Canoness Xavier commissioned the Squats to manufacture a number
of suits for her, replicating the Imperial design. Of course, this design
could not be perfectly copied - many changes had to be made, but the look
and 'feel' of the armor remained the same.

Knowing that her distance from Imperial forces made reinforcements an
impossibility, and that she couldn't even contact the convent on Terra,
Canoness Xavier oversaw the production of the new suits of armor. She
insured that each suit was blessed and annointed, and prepared spiritually
for it's holy duty ahead. The production moved forward, and fairly soon,
the damaged and destroyed suits of power armor were replaced.

During the production, the Squat engineers discovered a technique that
involved fiber bundles - similar to the fibers that the suits already
contained for enhanced movement and strength. The technique involved
applying a thin layer of reactive fibers under the plates of the armor
itself. These reactive fibers would react instantly to pressure, becoming
rigid. Within seconds, the reactive fibers would relax. This effect would
be used to strengthen the power armor, and provide additional protection
exactly where it was needed. It wasn't perfect, and from time to time, the
effect would fail to provide enough pressure. This made the suits stronger
than a normal suit of power armor, but not quite as reliable.

Knowing this, Canoness Xavier commissioned the Squats to build several
"normal" suits of power armor, and a handful of the suits of the "special"
armor. Knowing that her remote shrines were constantly in danger, she knew
that the only way to secure the Light of the Emperor in this remote sector
was to embark on a crusade, and secure the shrines on the nearby worlds.
This new suit of armor would mark the beginning of that crusade. She dubbed
it the Crusader Armor, and knowing she only had a limited number of suits,
she only gave her most trusted Celestians the priviledge of wearing it.

Crusader Armor - confers a 3+ armor save, just like power armor. However,
on a failed save, the player may re-roll the save (regardless of armor
penetration) to determine if the fiber bundles activated properly, and
stopped the shot from penetrating. The player may only re-roll the save
once.
