Canoness conversion by John Swann

Clearly I'm not the only one unhappy with the Canoness as sculpted.   I used the RTB01 Plastic Power Glove.  Just about the right size and very easy to work with.  The instructions are just like any other such conversion.  Cut off the old arm, eye-ball the new one, cut, fiddle, and glue...

I cut the flamer-head off of the Combi flamer and replaced it with a meltagun barrel cut from from the Ork weapons sprue. Second, I built the "golden halo" (Rosarius in game terms) out of a sheet plastruct. I used a compass to measure the distance across the backpack between the "tanks" and then used the compass to draw a half circle with that diameter onto the plastic sheet extending the ends parallel to each other so I ended up with a "U" shape. The "legs" of the "U" were the posts that I would use to mount the Halo. I then sketched out the outline of the halo and then started to cut with a brand new xacto blade. It was originally intended to simply be an experiment, but it came out well enough that I decided to stick with it. Then I just drilled two holes in the top of the backpack (into the "grooves" where the tanks meet the body of the pack), test fitted the halo, put a couple drops of glue in the holes and then slid the legs of the "U" into the holes. Voila. The inspiration, obviously, was the LE Leonatus figure with its Iron Halo, and it lets me have a more WYSISYG army than I'd have by saying "Oh, that figure has a Rosarius..."
