HQ: Mother Superior: All too often, an Order is called upon to fight in many battles at the same time. When the Orders Cannoness cannot join her charges in person, she will often appoint a trusted lieutenant to lead the Battle Sisters. These Mothers Superior always have the complete faith of the Cannoness and being appointed to this role is often a stepping-stone to higher ranks within the Adepta Sororitas.
Weapons: Bolt Pistol. Options: The Mother Superior may be given up to two choices from the Sisters of Battle Wargear List. The Mother Superior may be given a Rosarius for an additional cost of +10 points. Body Guard: The Mother Superior may be accompanied by a body guard of either 5 to 10 Celestians at an additional cost of +12 points per model; or 5 to 10 Mercurians for an additional cost of +16 points per model. Options: As per a Cannoness. Characters: As per a Cannoness; up to one Mercurian may be upgraded to a standard bearer at an additional cost of +10 points. Rhino: As per a Cannoness. Immolator: As per a Cannoness.
Disciplinarian: The Disciplinarians of the Sororitas oversee the punishment of those Sisters who falter in slight ways. Usually older Battle Sisters themselves, they accompany the Penitent Sisters who seek to prove their faith and purity through the Emperors blessing in combat.
Weapons: Bolt Pistol. Options: The Disciplinarian may be given up to two choices from the Sisters of Battle Wargear List. The Disciplinarian may be given a Rosarius for an additional cost of +10 points. Special Rules: Must lead penitent squad. A Disciplinarian is followed by d3+2 (randomly rolled at start of the battle) penitents, as well as any Penitents drawn from the Battle Sister army prior to the battle. Like her charges, a Disciplinarian never need test morale and will never fall back from combat.
Hospitaller: While most members of the Adepta Sororitas who venture onto the battlefield come from the Orders Militant, members of the Order Hospitaller often don the armor of a Battle Sister and tend to the wounded.
Wargear: Bolt pistol, Medicus Ministorum Options: The Hospitaller may be given one choice from the Sisters of Battle Wargear List. The Hospitaller may be given a Rosarius at an additional cost of +10 points. Special Rules: Independent Character. Medicus Ministorum: Any unit the Hospitaller has joined may ignore the first failed armor save each turn. Hospitallers may not tend to models that have been hit by weapons that allow no armor save due to their AP; nor to models hit and killed by weapons that cause an Autokill of the model. Elites: Mercurians: Only the most battle-proven and pure Battle Sisters are taken into the ranks of the Mercurians. Although all Daughters of the Emperor receive training with the sword, the Mercurians train almost exclusively with the massive swords that are their hallmark. Steeped in the most ancient battle rites of the Daughters of the Emperor, the Mercurians wield massive power weapons with an ease that betrays their lethal skills. Such is their skill and ferocity that even the most battle-harded warrior will often flinch and duck away at a Mercurians charge.
Squad: The squad consists of one Sister Superior and between four and nine Mercurians. Weapons: Bolt pistols, double-handed power swords (+1S in HtH; Power Weapon) Options: None Character: The Sister Superior may be upgraded to a Veteran Sister Superior at an additional cost of +10 points. The Veteran Sister Superior may also be given a single choice from the Sisters of Battle Wargear List. Rhino: The Squad may be mounted in a Rhino armored carrier at an additional cost of +50 points. Special Rules: Due to their skill and prowess with their massive weapons, Mercurians count as having frag grenades when attacking units in cover. Due to the size and mass of their power swords, Mercurians cannot use a bolt pistol and wield the sword at the same time. Thus they may not fire in the turn they wish to assault and may not claim a second close combat weapon bonus in an assault. Purifier Squads: More heavily armed than regular Battle Sister squads, the Purifiers take the Emperors wrath to the infidel, the heretic, and the alien. Bringing cleansing fire to the Ecclesiarchys foes, the Purifiers pave the way for the light of the Faithful to shine.
Squad: The squad consists of one Sister Superior and between four and nine Purifiers. Weapons: Bolters. The Sister Superior may exchange her bolter for a bolt pistol and close combat weapon at no extra points cost. Options: Up to four Purifiers may be armed with the following weapons: flamer at +3 points or melta gun at +10 points (or, if your opponent allows, plasma gun at +10 points). Troops: Cleanse Squads: Small squads of Battle Sisters are often send far and wide to seek signs of sin, heresy, or disobedience to the Ministrorum,. These Cleanse squads seek out and destroy the impure and those found wanting are either dealt with directly, or reported back to the Ecclesiarchy or Inquisition for further attention. Because of these wanderings, Cleansers are often the first members of the Orders Militant encounter the foes of the Ecclesiarchy. Trained to storm the very strongholds of the impure, Cleanse Squads are armed with deadly combat shotguns to allow them to swiftly attack, paving the way for the Battle Sisters who follow.
Squad: The squad consists of one Sister Superior and between four and nine Cleansers Weapons: Shotguns. Any Cleanse Squad member may exchange her Shotgun for a bolt pistol and close combat weapon at no extra points cost. Options: Up to one Cleanse Squad member may be armed with a flamer at +3 points or a melta gun at +10 points (or a plasma gun at +10 points). The Squad may be equipped with frag grenades at an additional cost of +1 point per model and krak grenades at an additional cost of +2 points per model. Character: The Sister Superior may be upgraded to a Veteran Sister Superior at an additional cost of +10 points. The Veteran Sister Superior may also be given a single choice from the Sisters of Battle Wargear List. Special Rules: If the scenario allows, Cleanse squads may act as Infiltrators. Fast Attack:
Vehorite Squadrons: Some Battle Sisters ride massive motorcycles, using speed and firepower to catch and destroy the heretic. These Vehorites, with Ecclesiarchical dispensation, make small offerings to the Machine God to keep their great machines running.
Squad: The Squadron consists of 1 Sister Superior and between 2 to 4 Vehorites. Weapons: Each bike is fitted with twin-linked bolters. Each Vehorite is armed with a bolt pistol. The heavy bolter may be replaced with a multi-melta for an additional cost of +20 points or a heavy flamer at an additional cost of +10 points. Sacred Rites: Vehorites may not receive sacred rites prior to the battle as they must make small concessions to the Machine God.
Perditor Squadrons. Carrying heavier armament than Vehorites, Perditor squadrons provide a powerful punch, sending the foes of the Ministrorum into crushing retreat.
Squad: The Squadron consists of between 1 and 3 Sisters of Battle Attack Bikes. Weapons: Each attack bike is fitted with twin-linked bolters and a pintle-mounted Heavy Bolter. Each Sister of Battle rider is armed with a bolt pistol. Any attack bike may exchange its twin-linker bolters with a flamer at no additional points cost. Sacred Rites: Sisters of Battle Attack Bike Riders may not receive sacred rites prior to the battle as they must make small concessions to the Machine God.
Special Rules for Battle Sister Armies: Penitents: It often occurs that a member of the Adepta Sororitas has committed some minor transgression against the edicts of the Ministrorum in general and the Adepta Sororitas in particular. In the case of the Orders Hospitaller, Diologous, and Familias punishment usually involves prayer, fasting, and meditation. In the case of the Order Militant, however, such transgressions threaten to have much graver consequences as the Administratum, to this day, seeks to find the leverage needed to overturn the words of the Decree Passive. To redeem her soul and prove her faith, such Sisters vow not to wear their armor until they have been proven pure once again. Such a Sister must await the call to battle to prove her faith in trial by combat. Dressed only in her Purification Robes, a Penitent sister goes into battle knowing that if the Emperor deems her pure, she will survive and rejoin her Sisters, her purity beyond question; and should she die, her sin will be erased and she will join the Emperors light. At the start of the battle, roll 1d6 per Battle Sister squad (including Seraphim, Celestians, Mercurians, Cleansers, Purifiers, Retributors, and Battle Sisters), on a 5-6, remove one member of the squad. For each such Penitent, add one to the strength of the Penitent Squad. Penitents: Seeking absolution, Penitents go into battle with only bolters, Robes of Purification, and an absolute faith in the Emperors will.
Squad: The squad consists of all the Penitents rolled at the start of the battle. Weapons: Boltguns. Options: Any Penitent may exchange her boltgun for either a shotgun or twin bolt pistols at no additional cost. Special Rules: The Emperors Will Be Done: Protected by the Emperors will Penitents have an Invulnerable save. Further, such is their faith and shame, Penitents never test morale and will never fall back in combat.
Sacred Rites: Some Adeptus Minstrorum characters may lead a squad they accompany in the Sacred Rites. Roll a d6 on the Sacred Rites table to find out what effect the prayers have on the squad. The following modifiers apply, and are cumulative with each other:
If the character leading a unit leaves it at anytime during the game, any benefit from the Sacred Rites is lost.
Sacred Rites Table:
